HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — Two Former Arkansas Razorbacks softball stars will conduct competitive softball camps at Hot Springs’ Majestic Park on Saturday, December 2.

Sam Torres and Kayla Green, who played for the Razorbacks from 2018 to 2022, will conduct three sessions at the sports complex starting at 11:30 a.m., according to Majestic Park General Manager Derek Phillips.

Session 1, starting at 11:30 a.m. will concentrate on hitting. Session 2, starting at 2 p.m., will emphasize playing defense. Session 3, starting at 4:30 p.m., will be for catchers.

“Sam and Kayla were standouts for the Razorbacks and will be certain to provide outstanding tips and information to those who attend the three sessions,” Phillips said. “To get registered, send an email to

competitivesbcamp@yahoo.com.”

Phillips said the camps are for players aged 8 to 18, and registration for each camp is $75.

“Registration will be limited to 30 players for each camp,” he said, “so Sam and Kayla will be able to communicate the maximum amount of info for each session.”

Kayla Green was a catcher for the Razorbacks and Sam Torres was a slapper/outfielder. The slap is a hitting style used to attack a certain spot of the infield. It can be difficult to defend and a good technique to help advance teammates already on base.

Green and Torres both hail from Temecula, Calif., and both were standouts with the Razorbacks. Green was a Southeastern Conference Player of the Week in 202 and was on the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2020 and 2021. Torres was on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2019; SEC Academic Honor Roll 2020 and 2021, and was an Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2029, 2020 and 2021.
